Neaji Ensemble – Emmanuelle Rouaud (shakuhachi) and Henri Algadafe (composer, electronics & electric guitar) – a collaboration to create new contemporary repertoire for shakuhachi.

Past compositions/performances include two World Premieres, Un Long Chemin Sinueux (shakuhachi + electronics) in 2023 at the ESS Summer School in Dublin, Ireland and I Thought About Eva (shakuhachi + koto) in 2018 at the World Shakuhachi Festival in London, UK. Other new compositions were De Vagues et d’élans (2015) for shakuhachi and eletric guitar, premiered in Buc/Versailles, France.

Two new unperformed compositions in progress are Contraction-Expansion-Resolution-ou-Les-Reveries-Cosmologiques-D’un-Promeneur-égaré, and 36º 25’ N 12º 33’ E , both for shakuhachi, eletric guitar and electronics.
